LGPE Performance

Large Group Performance Evaluation

Each year bands from all over the state of Georgia perform for the Georgia Music Educators Large Group Performance Evaluation. This is required of us by Fulton County. Think of it like an end of course test for band. We will play for a panel of judges and receive scores and comments. This is an important part of our development as a band, and it ensures that our students are receiving a quality music education. It's also a great opportunity for the students to perform under pressure. LGPE is free and open to the public, so parents, friends, family are invited to watch us perform. Here are the details: - March 23, 2022 - Chattahoochee High School - Depart North Springs at 2:00, warm up at 3:30, perform at 4:00, sight read at 4:30, and home by 6:00. - We are traveling on a charter bus from Samson Tours, Inc. - Students may want to bring money as there will be concessions available to purchase while we wait on scores to be posted. - Attire is dress black - See below - no denim, no athletic wear, no sneakers, etc. If you're not sure then ask. - I could use a couple of parent chaperones to travel with us. - Any questions? - post them here Special note on attire First and foremost, it is completely black. Concert black is formal, classy, and elegant. Students are free to choose the components of their concert blacks (all black from their waste to the floor) within the following guidelines: • black dress pants, slacks, skirt, or dress (skirt length is at the knee or longer) • black socks or black opaque stockings/tights • black shoes • see pictures below for examples • ** Also, a black or solid color mask when this protocol is necessary Concert attire is not... • jeans, sweats, warm-up pants, yoga pants, leggings, mini-skirts or shorts • t-shirts, tank tops, spaghetti straps, halter tops,

or crop tops • flip-flops, sports shoes, sneakers, black shoes with colored stripes or logos • white socks, colored socks, no-socks, bare legs, or bare feet Examples (for either gender - I'm not saying ladies have to wear dresses)
