Our first game is tomorrow! After being in COVID quarantine for a week, we are not ready to perform on the field. However, we will play some tunes in the stands and cheer on the Spartans. One note, the shorts and shirts are delayed. Students either have these from previous seasons or I handed out the extras that we had on hand in the band room. Either way, the uniform for Friday night is the gray NS shirt and the band shorts (or as close as you can get to blue or dark shorts). Here are the details for Friday night:
3:45 - 5:15 - students will report to the band room after dismissal. We will rehearse until dinner.
5:30 - 6:30 - dinner (provided) and get ready for the game
6:00 - parent chaperones arrive. Text Mr. Brown if you can't get into the building (my number is on the reservation details for the "tickets").
6:45 - students assemble behind the stadium wearing blue shorts and the band t-shirt and with instrument and music.
7:10 (approx) - Star Spangled Banner
7:30 - kickoff
8:30 (approx) - halftime with dance performance by the Spartan Divas
10:00 (approx) - game ends - I will send a message on Twitter and on the Band app when we are approaching the end of the game. From that time until pickup is usually 15-20 minutes. Dismissal and pickup will be after we return to the band room to pack up and clean up.
Please be on time for pickup. I have had late students waiting around for rides well after dismissal at every rehearsal that we have had so far this year.
