Game Night Details
Our first pep band performance is Friday, September 25 at the North Springs home game versus Woodland HS. Here are the details:
Arrival
6:00 – 6:20 through the front of the school. Go directly to the cafeteria.
Students should be wearing the uniform shorts and t-shirt, comfortable shoes, and they may want to have a jacket or sweatshirt in case it gets cool.
Every student will need to bring their own water bottle. We are not providing water.
Pregame
We will walk down to the stadium at 6:30 to set up chairs and stands. We were originally going to sit in the visitor stands. However, that is no longer going to work, so we will be sitting near the end zone of the score board side of the field.
6:50 – 7:00 – Warm up and tuning
7:10 – Star Spangled Banner
Game
7:30 – kickoff
9:30 – 10:30 – dismissal – The game will run for at least two hours. Maybe three. Maybe longer (probably not). Students should plan to call or text near the end of the fourth quarter. It’s football, and there are a lot of variables that influence how long the game runs. I can’t give you a definite time.
Rain – I have a plan for rain. In fact, I have several plans for rain. Lightning will send us inside no matter what. Intermittent rain may mean that we play the national anthem then wait it out under the stands. We may have to go inside for a while if it’s raining hard enough. I typically have to play it by ear. If it looks like a complete rain out, then we will go inside, and I’ll have the students call for rides.
Game Updates
I will post updates about dismissal, rain, etc, on the band twitter feed (@SpartanBands). Please follow if you are not already.
